Final Project: Methods Draft

For my research project, I plan on looking at engagements regarding the twitter video posted by @_waleedshahid titled "British people guess how much US healthcare costs". In the video, an interviewer asks civilians in the UK how much they would assume ambulances, childbirth, and other procedures cost in the US and their responses to the true prices were consistently shocked. The video concludes by mentioning the NHS, the publicly-funded healthcare system in the UK which provides coverage for a variety of medical needs and charges very little for things like inhalers and other medical needs.
I will be analyzing the first 50 comments and take note of recurring comments or topics. To carefully evaluate how these arguments/debates flow, I will choose 5 comments that specifically identify price differences in other countries and look at how conversations unravel in response.

My big-picture goal within this project is to display the role twitter has in making users more aware of healthcare and other human rights in other countries. Without such global social media platforms (including Facebook, twitter, an Instagram), we may not be able to compare these personal experiences.
